Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) Setup
Under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021, all oil and gas leaseholders and licensees (settlors) must establish a Host Community Development Trust. This trust is designed to foster sustainable development, peace, and security in host communities.
The settlor must contribute 3% of its actual annual operating expenditure (OPEX) from the preceding financial year to the HCDT Fund.
